For first time LCD designers, we recommend going to the first section, "Design Worksheet", to print a reference worksheet which will be a handy document to have as you go through the other pages. Then visit the "First Steps" page to gather data to fill in the worksheet. Along the way, you will learn everything you need to know to specify a liquid crystal display, plus discover a significant amount of other information which will be valuable in your design efforts.
If you are not necessarily designing a custom display, the "First Steps", "Technical Q & A" , "App Notes" and "Links" pages are a good source of LCD technical reference materials.
